The meaning of being a friend

There will be times when you spend time reflecting,
On times we shared laughter and tears
Some will bring smiles back to our faces
Others remind us of times we worried in fear

But the best of times to remember in friendship
Are the quietest moments, between 2 friends
between the worst of scandals and web of lies
A time when both need that helping hand

That is the friend we all should keep close to heart
A friend who is firm, with an unwavering stand
That even if storms blew over the teacup
She will offer you, a warm and steady hand

She will not judge, nor will she be swayed by words
But will stand her ground, the best she can
AND be that support, come hell or highwater
For you, for me, for everything sincere and true.
